If you don't know who Groucho Marx is, you're missing an important part of American culture.

Miriam's book
Love, Groucho
contains hundreds of her letters from her famous father, Groucho Marx.

Miriam Marx-Allen at Dairy Queen in Soldotna, Alaska - June 12, 2004

So how did we manage to meet such a famous person as Miriam Marx-Allen?

It all started years ago with my sister Lynda's Groucho memorabilia.  Her husband Kurt has been interested in Groucho as well, and has added a considerable amount to the collection over the years.

A note from my sister about how she came to know Miriam:
"How we met Miriam: We met Frank Ferrante, a friend of hers who does the one-man Groucho show, at the Herberger West when he performed the show here in Phoenix. A few years later, he and Kurt arranged for me to meet Miriam at the Friar's Club for lunch in Beverly Hills and we went and had lunch (I also saw Milton Berle, Shecky Green and Tony Martin there that day!). We corresponded for a few more years, and then Frank and Miriam came to Scottsdale to do the one-man Groucho show as fundraisers for Stagebrush Theatre and Theaterworks. While she was here, she and Kurt cooked up the idea of going to Alaska because she had never been, and wanted to go."

By providence, Bill & I planned our Alaska fishing trips for the same week Lynda & Kurt were taking Miriam to see Alaska and visit Kurt's son, Mike, and his wife Michelle in Soldotna.
