The Tardiff family traces its roots to Olivier LeTardif of Brittany, France. Olivier was born about 1601 and died in Quebec about 1664. Our family decends from Olivier through his son Guillame, to Charles, Charles Francois, Raphael, Ambroise, Louis (died in Durham, Maine).

The Stinchfield family can be traced to John STHENFELD, who was born October 12, 1715 at Leeds,York, England. John Stinchfield and his wife and 6 children moved to New Gloucester, Maine about 1755.

Gustave and Lottie Stinchfield Tardiff had 10 children between them. They lived on the Tardiff family farm at the bend of Snow Road in Durham, Maine. Life was hard for the Tardiff children, growing up during the depression. The Tardiff's and their families can now be found in several states, including Texas, Washington, Pennsylvania and Illinois.
